Revive Light Therapy Devices Explained!

Revive Light Therapy devices

There are so many skincare trends going around, from different types of facials to tools promising to lift your skin, and it can be difficult to determine what trends will work for you and your skin. One of the techniques beginning to gain traction in the skincare world is light therapy, but many people don’t realize light therapy has been around for longer than most think. In the last 40 years, there has been extensive research over the use and benefits of light therapy for the skin at a cellular level. Light therapy was initially developed by NASA to help maintain metabolic function of astronauts when they were in space, but physicians started to use it in the 1960’s.

How does reVive Light Therapy work?

As light energy is applied to the tissue in the skin, it is absorbed into the energy cells and cell membranes, resulting in an increase in energy availability. The increase in cell energy ultimately leads to increased DNA and RNA creation, which work to repair tissues, replace cells, heal the skin and help with essential skin processes. For example, our bodies begin to produce less collagen as we age. Collagen is a protein responsible for keeping our skin bouncy and smooth, and as we age, we may require some additional outside help in stimulating the production of collagen. When you use light therapy, it penetrates deep into the dermis layer of the skin, stimulating the cells that help produce collagen. The new collagen produced moves to the surface of the skin, helping to reduce wrinkles and keep your skin smooth.

Have you been looking to try out light therapy, but don’t know where to start? Revive Light Therapy is a great way to dive in to an at-home light therapy system. There are four different types of light available from Revive’s products, each responsible for helping certain skin concerns and conditions.

What are the different types of lights?

Infrared Light: This type of light is invisible to the naked eye, but even if you don’t see it, it’s working. It penetrates deeper than any other light to combat signs of aging, stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin and can also accelerate the healing of cuts and wounds. A great option is the Revive DPL II Full-Face Wrinkle Reduction Light Therapy Panel. This is a full-face infrared light treatment for wrinkle and line reduction and prevention, skin tone rejuvenation and treatment for hyperpigmentation, leading to healthy, youthful and glowing skin.

Red Light: Red light can penetrate into deep layers of the skin to stimulate cellular repair and increase circulation. Red and infrared light can work together to rejuvenate the skin, provide healing and promote a youthful connection. For chronic or muscle pain, the Revive DPL Nüve Pain Light Therapy System uses red light to help blood circulation, relax muscles and help to manage pain from conditions like arthritis, tendonitis or other injuries.

Amber Light: Amber light helps to correct dull skin by reducing redness, swelling and inflammation in the skin, bringing a healthy and beautiful glow to the surface. Amber light is effective for skin conditions such as rosacea and also the treatment of sunburns. The Revive DPL Nüve Wrinkles Light Therapy System uses amber light works from the inside out to heal and help prevent further wrinkles, fine lines, issues with elasticity and firmness and uneven skin tone.

Blue Light: Blue light is known to have powerful anti-bacterial effects, which makes it great for acne and irritation. It helps to stabilize oil production, soothe inflammation and purify the skin from the inside out. For a powerful and effective acne treatment, the Revive DPL Nüve Acne Light Therapy System. This tool uses blue light technology to penetrate into the skin to destroy bacteria and soothe inflammation that can cause acne breakouts.

Revive’s Light Therapy system is clinically proven to help your skin if used once per day during your normal skincare routine, but to increase the effectiveness of the tools by 12 times, you can combine the light therapy with products containing hyaluronic acid or peptides to provide the maximum skin rejuvenation and healing. The Clinicians Complex Peptide Plus Cream contains a unique complex of three anti-aging and anti-wrinkle peptides and is a great option to use along with light therapy. For maximum hydration, try the PCA Skin Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum in conjunction with light therapy to heal and renew the skin.

All Revive Light Therapy devices are approved by the FDA and have been clinically tested to show results for anti-aging, acne and pain management. When using light therapy, it’s important to stay consistent in your use; you may not see a difference when you look in the mirror the next day, but we recommend taking a before and after photo after 1 month, and then 2 months, and 3 months, to really get a good image of how your skin has changed for the better while using light therapy consistently. Be sure to avoid using light therapy with ingredients such as retinol, as it can be harsh on the skin and lead to drying.
